DONALD K. STEVENS Donald Kenneth Edward Stevens, 91, died April 21, 2002, at his home in Culver. He was born January 11, 1911 at Culver. He owned and operated the Stevens Oil and Repair Service in Culver for 31 years. He was also the mayor and a councilman of Culver for several years. He served as Culver Fire Chief, a school bus driver for USD 240 and was a rural substitute mail carrier for 15 years. Survivros include a son Kenneth (Jim) James Stevens of Tampa, Flordia; a doughter, Patty Jo Rogers and husband Jack of Fort Collins, Colorado; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte Sams, Culver and Betty "Jeri" Somers, Salina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Vione Stevens, a son, Robert Eugene Stevens, and two brothers, William and Harold Stevens. A graveside service will be held April 26 at 11 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Minneapolis with Rev. Helen Dent officiating. There will be no visitation. Shields Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorials are to the Culver Presbyterian Church or the Culver Senior Center. |
